Guru Nanak Darbar Election Board has been formed on Sunday 22nd June 2025 to allow the Sangat (Gurdwara Congregation) the vehicle and capability to vote for their chosen candidate/committee to manage and maintain Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara. The Election Board will manage the process as per the current Gurdwara constitution (taking onboard any legislative changes).

 

The election board (EB) is an independent body of five persons that has been selected at the General Meeting by the sangat (congregation).

1. Baljit Singh Hayre (BH) - Chairman

2. Simranjot Singh (SS) - Secretary

3. Gurpreet Singh Hunjan (GSH)

4. Kalvinder Singh Sandher (KSS) - Treasurer

5. Gurdip Singh Clare (GSC)

 

Election timelines provided by the Election Board will be communicated verbally at the Gurdwara and via various digital channels. This may also include displaying on the Gurdwara physical and digital notice boards.

• Tuesday 15th July: Gurdwara Online registration process opens for Gurdwara Election

• Thursday 24th July (latest target date): Draft 1 - Supply of 2023 electorate list to candidates (revalidated by GBC)

• Friday 25th July: Gurdwara Registration clinics opens for Gurdwara Election (as per below timings)

• Thursday 31st July (5PM) - Gravesham Borough Council (GBC) Electoral list final refresh deadline.  https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

• Sunday 10th August 7:30PM: Last Gurdwara Registration clinic for Gurdwara Election

• Sunday 10th August 7:30PM: Gurdwara Registration online process closes

• TBC: Final Supply of Final members list to candidates (validated by GBC)
