Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara and Basics of Sikhi are proud to announce that due to continuous couples demand, we are now able to offer this course on extremely limited dates. Please note this is a mandatory course when getting married at Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara. 

 

The Anand Karaj course helps couples understand that a Sikh marriage is far more than a social or cultural event – it is a spiritual journey taken together under the guidance of Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

 

The course explains the deeper meaning of the Anand Karaj, including the Laavaan, the four sacred hymns that are recited during the ceremony. These hymns describe the stages of a couple’s spiritual and emotional growth together, helping couples appreciate that marriage in Sikhi is about unity of the soul, not just a legal or romantic partnership.

 

The course also gives clarity about what actually happens during the Anand Karaj. Many people attend weddings without truly knowing why certain things are done, but through the course couples learn the flow of the ceremony, the role of kirtan, ardaas, and sangat, and how to participate respectfully and meaningfully.
