Wand kay Shako is one of the three main pillars of the teaching of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of the Sikh faith. The other two pillars are Naam Japo and Kirat Karni.

The term "Wand kay Shako" means to share ones wealth with others in the community, to give to charity, to distribute in Langar (free Kitchen) and to generally help others in the community who need help.

This concept acknowledges the fact that everything that one receives is by God's Will or Hukam. And when one receives more than one can consume, then this gift must be shared with the community especially people who are needy and have much less than you.

Whilst we continue to monitor developments about the Covid-19 pandemic (Coronavirus), we recognise that some of the Sangat fall within the 'vulnerable' status as specified by the government during this pandemic.  The Gurdwara Management Committee has created a 'Langar Delivery Sewa' team that will deliver langar (blessed food) to those who fall within the 'vulnerable' status and require food because; they are unable to obtain food or don't have access to family and friends that are able to help.

Please click on the above link to request Langar Delivery or call 01474 761063

Please Note: All food supplied is pure vegetarian and delivery is only available within the Gravesham Borough Council catchment area
